March 20, 2019 6:43 AM

Imperial Capital analyst David Miller reiterated an Outperform rating and $463.00 price target on Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) and raised his domestic subscriber estimate for Q1 to 1.63M from 1.6M, and International
subscriber estimate to 7.38M from 7.30M, on the success of the films BirdBox and Roma and the wide appeal of series originally intended for international audiences hat are finding viewers not only in the United States, but other countries separate from the original country intended: Bodyguard, a crime drama filmed in England but which is playing well all throughout continental Europe, The Protector, a drama/fantasy series filmed and set in Turkey, and Baby, an Italian teen drama which is also finding cross-border appeal.

The analyst stated "The examples here underscore general concept we issued back in a separate report dated 11/16/18, which is that too many media investors think of NFLX’s international business as simply U.S. content that is dubbed in various foreign languages, but in many cases, the inverse of that is starting to take hold".
