SuperSonic Imagine to Feature Aixplorer MACH® 30 Ultrasound System’s Role in Non-Invasive Management of Liver Disease at ACG 2018

October 1, 2018 7:00 AM

AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France, Oct. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SuperSonic Imagine (Euronext: SSI FR0010526814), a company specialized in ultrasound medical imaging, announced today that it will feature the Aixplorer® platform, including the newly FDA approved MACH® 30, at the annual meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG 2018), held October 5–10 in Philadelphia.

“Our first trip to the ACG 2018 meeting will be an exciting opportunity for us to meet with gastroenterologists from around the country who rely on ultrasound technology every day,” said Alex Exposito, Director of North America. “As part of SSI’s deep commitment to enhancing non-invasive diagnostic capabilities in gastroenterology, we are proud to bring to ACG 2018 our Aixplorer platform, the only ultrasound with 510(k) approval for management of liver disease, the new Aixplorer MACH 30.”

In addition to routine morphological and hemodynamic imaging, Aixplorer systems can quickly and reliably image and measure liver and spleen stiffness in real time under image guidance, utilizing the platform’s ShearWave® Elastography (SWE) technology, a 60-second non-invasive exam. Liver and spleen stiffness are known to be correlated to liver fibrosis severity and are therefore considered critical non-invasive markers of disease severity. Physicians also can compare ultrasound liver brightness to reference tissue to gain a hepato-renal brightness ratio, which indicates the extent of hepatic steatosis. Aixplorer’s ability to visualize and quantify abdominal vascularization and perfusion aid clinical management of adult patients with liver nodules and advanced chronic liver diseases as well.

The Aixplorer MACH 30 offers greater performance, combined with an elegant and functional design and a streamlined user experience, featuring the SonicPad® touchpad. With enhanced power, the Aixplorer MACH 30 makes innovative imaging modes even faster and more efficient – setting a new standard in B-mode image quality, while the new transducer range improves unique imaging modes, such as Angio PL.U.S for imaging lesion microvascularization and TriVu (B-mode/SWE/+) triplex mode. The MACH 30 sets new standards in ShearWave imaging with the new ShearWave PLUS.

SSI invites attendees of ACG 2018 to see demonstrations of the Aixplorer MACH 30 at Exhibit Hall booth #457.
