Baxter (BAX) Tops Q2 EPS by 6c

Baxter (NYSE: BAX) reported Q2 EPS of $0.77, $0.06 better than the analyst estimate of $0.71. Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.84 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.83 billion.

GUIDANCE:

Baxter sees FY2018 EPS of $2.94-$3.00, versus the consensus of $2.89.

The company now expects sales growth of approximately 6 percent on a reported basis as a result of changes in foreign exchange rates. The company continues to expect sales growth of approximately 5 percent on a constant currency basis and 4 to 5 percent on an operational basis.*

Baxter sees FY2018 EPS of $0.72-$0.74, versus the consensus of $0.74.

For third-quarter 2018: The company expects sales growth of approximately 3 percent on a reported basis, approximately 3 to 4 percent on a constant currency basis and 3 to 4 percent on an operational basis.* The company expects adjusted earnings from continuing operations, before special items, of $0.72 to $0.74 per diluted share.
