The new pilot, which supports Cigna's Go, Know and Take Control message, encourages people to call or text to “page” Cigna’s TV Doctors at 1-833-PAGE-DOC (833-724-3362). In their response, the campaign stars, Patrick Dempsey, Donald Faison, Neil Patrick Harris and Kate Walsh, will emphasize the importance of preventive care. Each user will also be given the opportunity to opt-in to receive a personal reminder from one of the four celebrities 30 days later to schedule their annual check-up.

“After seeing an 18 percent increase in annual check-ups among Cigna customers over the past two yearsii, we were inspired to find a simple and more personalized way to connect with the people we serve,” said Stephen Cassell, Vice President, Global Branding, Cigna. “Scheduling an annual check-up is an important way to stay healthy and Patrick, Neil, Kate and Donald are all powerful champions of this potentially life-saving message.”

This is part of Cigna’s mission to help save 100,000 lives each year by encouraging Americans to prioritize preventive care. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 100,000 lives could be saved if everyone got the recommended preventive care they needi, which often starts with seeing a doctor for an annual check-up. However, Americans use preventive services at only about half the recommended rateiii, despite it being covered by most health insurance plansiv.

This program encourages Americans to schedule their annual check-up and know their four health numbers, including blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and body mass index. These numbers are responsible for the majority of preventable chronic disease and are the main drivers of health care costv.
