Online High School Allows Students to Get Their Education Back on Track

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hill House Passport Academy Charter School (HHPACS), a tuition-free public high school for under-credited students, is now accepting enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year. A blended learning environment that combines online coursework with in-person instruction, HHPACS offers Pennsylvania students who have not been able to finish their high school education a chance to earn a high school diploma.

“Our school was built on the understanding that many students face unique challenges when it comes to completing high school,” says HHPACS Principal Bo Jackson. “Our unique model brings together online and in-person support to offer our students the opportunity to get their education back on track.”

The school’s blended learning model allows students to move through the curriculum at their own pace, and balance other demands and responsibilities such as work, internships and family. Students are required to attend three hours of in-person learning each day, taught by Pennsylvania-licensed teachers at the school’s Pittsburgh campus. Classes are offered in mornings, afternoons and evenings, with two hours of independent study completed online each day.

Through partnerships with local organizations and traditional public schools, HHPACS is able to identify students who will thrive in the blended learning environment and support their academic and personal success. HHPACS provides unique programs that include workshops, ongoing development and in-person tutoring to help students set and achieve their academic goals.

In addition to the school’s academic program, HHPACS offers support services such as career counseling, mentoring, social service referrals, internship opportunities, post-secondary education planning and personal finance counseling.

Enrollment is now open for the 2018-2019 school year. Students and families are encouraged to attend an online or in-person information session hosted by the school. For more information about Hill House Passport Academy Charter School, visit hhpa.k12.com.
