Oppenheimer reiterates a Perform rating on Energous Corp (NASDAQ: WATT) after the company reached a major milestone last week, the first FCC approval for a distance charging solution. With FCC approval, Energous now has a framework to follow.

The FCC approval should provide a pathway for products to get faster approval. More importantly, it provides firm parameters for Energous to focus its R&D on improving power transfer. Oppenheimer expects the first products to be hearables and IoT accessories that require low power charge. Analysts expect the volumes to be small and keeps $3.9M revenue estimate for 2018.
