Palo Alto Networks (PANW) Tops Q1 EPS by 5c, Offers Q2 and FY Guidance, Names CFO

Palo Alto Networks (NYSE: PANW) reported Q1 EPS of $0.74, $0.05 better than the analyst estimate of $0.69. Revenue for the quarter came in at $505.5 million versus the consensus estimate of $489 million.

GUIDANCE:

Palo Alto Networks sees Q2 2018 EPS of $0.78-$0.80, versus the consensus of $0.77. Palo Alto Networks sees Q2 2018 revenue of $518-528 million vs consensus of $519.89 million.

Palo Alto Networks sees FY2018 EPS of $3.35-$3.41 vs consensus of $3.32. Palo Alto Networks sees FY2018 revenue of $2.145-2.185 billion vs consensus of $2.15 billion.

This afternoon, the company announced the appointment of Kathy Bonanno as the company's next chief financial officer. Kathy has held senior finance positions at Palo Alto Networks since 2014 and, most recently, had responsibility for financial planning, treasury, enterprise risk management and facilities. In her 30 years of business experience, she has held a variety of senior finance positions, including at Symantec Corporation and American Airlines. She holds a B.S. in finance from Arizona State University and an MBA from Texas Christian University.
