AMD (AMD) Partner Globalfoundries Isn't Working with Tesla (TSLA) on New Chip - Bloomberg, Citing Spokesman

September 21, 2017 7:07 AM

Globalfoundries, the contract chip manufacturer for Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD), said it isn't working on a chip for self-driving vehicles for Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA), according to Bloomberg, citing an email from a Globalfoundries spokesman.

The statement appears to dispute reports from CNBC yesterday that impacted shares of AMD and NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA).

Globalfoundries CEO Sanjay Jha, speaking at an event, was citing examples of companies like Apple, Google and Tesla as "the types of businesses showing interest in working closely with silicon companies to differentiate their offerings."
