Biogen (BIIB) Draws Takeover Interest from Allergan (AGN), Merck (MRK) - DJ

Biogen (Nasdaq: BIIB) attracted takeover interest from Allergan (NYSE: AGN) and Merck (NYSE: MRK), according to Dow Jones, citing sources. The two companies reportedly "sounded out" Biogen on a possible takeover.
Communications were informal and preliminary, and may not result in a deal in part because Biogen may not be interested.
Takeover chatter on Biogen recently picked up after long-time CEO, George Scangos, announced plans to step down in July.
