Belden (BDC) Tops Q2 EPS by 28c; Boosts Outlook

Belden (NYSE: BDC) reported Q2 EPS of $1.54, $0.28 better than the analyst estimate of $1.26. Revenue for the quarter came in at $601.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $582.25 million.

John Stroup, President and CEO of Belden Inc., said, “We are extremely pleased to generate revenues and earnings for the second quarter that exceeded our expectations, and we are proud to report organic revenue growth for the second quarter and first half of 2016. In addition to continued success in our Enterprise platform, the Broadcast platform generated broad-based, double-digit revenue growth in the quarter. Furthermore, margin expansion continues to be exceptional across the organization, as we benefit from our robust lean enterprise system.”

GUIDANCE:

Belden sees Q3 2016 EPS of $1.35-$1.45, versus the consensus of $1.39. Belden sees Q3 2016 revenue of $595-615 million, versus the consensus of $595 million.

Belden sees FY2016 EPS of $5.50-$5.70, versus prior guidance of $5.15-$5.45 and the consensus of $5.32. Belden sees FY2016 revenue of $2.355-2.385 billion, versus prior guidance of $2.313-2.363 billion and the consensus of $2.34 billion.
