Wal-mart (WMT) Tops Q1 EPS by 10c; Guides Q2 EPS
Wal-mart (NYSE: WMT) reported Q1 EPS of $0.98, $0.10 better than the analyst estimate of $0.88. Revenue for the quarter came in at $115.9 billion versus the consensus estimate of $113.22 billion.
Walmart U.S. delivered positive comp sales for the seventh consecutive quarter, up 1.0%, driven by the sixth consecutive quarter of positive traffic, up 1.5%. Neighborhood Market comp sales increased approximately 7.1%. Customer experience scores continued to improve.
GUIDANCE:
The company sees Q2 EPS of $0.95 - $1.08,versus the consensus of $0.98.
