Edwards Lifesciences (EW) Tops Q1 EPS by 5c; Issues Solid Outlook
Edwards Lifesciences (NYSE: EW) reported Q1 EPS of $0.71, $0.05 better than the analyst estimate of $0.66. Revenue for the quarter came in at $697.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $664.95 million.
"We are very pleased to report a strong start to 2016," said Michael A. Mussallem, chairman and CEO. "Significant transcatheter heart valve sales once again drove the majority of this quarter's growth, with solid performance in our core businesses, in particular Critical Care. We are also pleased to report strong bottom line results while aggressively investing in new therapies that can have a meaningful future impact. And, most importantly, even more patients are benefiting from our life saving technologies than ever before."
GUIDANCE:
Edwards Lifesciences sees Q2 2016 EPS of $0.67-$0.73, versus the consensus of $0.67. Edwards Lifesciences sees Q2 2016 revenue of $700-740 million, versus the consensus of $698.3 million.
Edwards Lifesciences sees FY2016 EPS of $2.67-$2.77, versus the consensus of $2.68. Edwards Lifesciences sees FY2016 revenue of $2.7-3.00 billion, versus the consensus of $2.8 billion.
