T-Mobile (TMUS) Reports In-Line Q1 EPS, Ex-Spectrum Gain
T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) reported Q1 EPS of $0.10, ex-spectrum gain, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.10. Revenue for the quarter rose 10.6% to $8.6 billion versus the consensus estimate of $8.4 billion.
The after-tax impact of the spectrum gain on EPS in the first quarter of 2016 was $0.46. Including the gain, EPS was $0.56, compared to EPS of $0.34 in the fourth quarter of 2015 and a loss per share of $0.09 in the first quarter of 2015.
Highlights:
- 2.2 million total net adds – 12th consecutive quarter of over 1 million, over 2 million for 6th time in past 7 quarters
- More than 1.0 million branded postpaid net adds – 7th consecutive quarter of over 1 million
- 877,000 branded postpaid phone net adds – expect to lead industry in branded postpaid phone net adds for the 9th consecutive quarter
- Record branded prepaid net adds of 807,000 – eleven-fold increase in branded prepaid net adds YoY
- Branded postpaid phone churn of 1.33% – down 13 bps QoQ
