CarMax (KMX) Posts Q4 GAAP EPS of 71c; Used Comps Rose 0.7%
CarMax (NYSE: KMX) reported Q4 EPS of $0.71, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.71. Revenue for the quarter came in at $3.71 billion versus the consensus estimate of $3.68 billion.
Net earnings for this year’s fourth quarter was reduced by $5.2 million, net of tax, or $0.03 per diluted share, for an impairment-related charge associated with a property that we no longer plan to use.
- Used unit sales in comparable stores increased 0.7% in the fourth quarter and 2.4% in the fiscal year.
- Total used unit sales rose 4.0% in the fourth quarter and 6.5% in the fiscal year.
- Wholesale vehicle unit sales grew 2.3% versus the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015, driven by the growth in our store base.
