J.C. Penney (JCP) Tops Q4 EPS by 16c; Offers FY16 Outlook
J.C. Penney (NYSE: JCP) reported Q4 EPS of $0.39, $0.16 better than the analyst estimate of $0.23. Revenue for the quarter came in at $4 billion versus the consensus estimate of $3.99 billion.
Comparable store sales grew 4.1% for the fourth quarter and 4.5% for the full year.
The Company’s 2016 full year guidance is as follows:
- Comparable store sales: expected to increase 3 % to 4 %;
- Gross margin: expected to increase 40 to 60 basis points versus 2015;
- SG&A dollars: expected to decrease versus 2015;
- EBITDA: expected to be $1 billion;
- Adjusted earnings per share: expected to be positive;
- Free cash flow: expected to improve versus 2015.
