Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) will update features of its Summon auto-park feature on the Model S after Consumer Reports noticed issues with the mode in recent testing.

According to the following video, CR noted that the Summon operation can be performed either with the key fob or mobile app for the Model S. You press the top of the key fob until the hazards flash, and then either on the front hood or read trunk to move the car forward or backwards. The app behaves similarly.

But, CR noticed that there could be a situation where a user drops the key fob or the app closes. The Model S wouldn't stop in those events, creating a potentially dangerous situation. Even objects such as a bicycle or duffel bag went undetected.

CR views the risk of injury as low, but did bring it up to Tesla, with Tesla agreeing to make changes.
