Stifel Affirms Vince Holdings (VNCE) at 'Hold'; Visibility Still Largely Lacking

December 11, 2015 7:08 AM

Stifel maintains its Hold rating on Vince Holding (NYSE: VNCE) following Q3 EPS results issued Thursday night.

Analyst Richard Jaffe summarized and commented:

Vince Holding Corp. reported adjusted 3Q EPS of $0.13, above our estimate of $0.06 and consensus of $0.07 versus EPS of $0.35 LY. Comp sales decreased 12.5% (including e-commerce sales), versus +8% LY. EPS excludes a $2 million benefit from the recovery on inventory write-downs taken in 2Q and excludes $0.2 million in management transition costs. Management significantly lowered its guidance for 2015 due to current business trends, primarily related to the weakness in the wholesale division and softening in the direct-to-consumer channel. The hampered outlook will likely pressure shares tomorrow. With lack of visibility for improvement and the risk inherent to executing a turnaround, we reiterate our Hold rating on the shares.
