T-Mobile Takes to the Skies Over AT&T’s Headquarters to #AbolishOverages

October 27, 2015 7:01 AM

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today at 2:00 p.m. Central, a team of T-Mobile skywriters will be flying 6,000 feet above AT&T’s Headquarters in Dallas, TX. The skywriters are there to send a message on behalf of hundreds of thousands of consumers who called for the end to the deplorable practice of overages in the wireless industry.

Background: Last year alone, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint milked $1.5 billion in overage penalties from their customers, and over 325,000 people signed T-Mobile President and CEO John Legere’s Change.org petition to abolish overages, currently making it the #1 technology petition on the site. When the old guard carriers refused to eliminate this archaic practice, John went to social media to see what sort of message he should send to really get their attention. After polling his followers, skywriting was the clear medium of choice.
Where: John’s message to AT&T will be visible over the AT&T Headquarters (208 S Akard Street Ste 110 Dallas, TX 75202).

Assets from Dallas will be available this afternoon on the T-Mobile Newsroom.
