Microsoft (MSFT) Hikes Price on Standalone Versions of Office 2016

Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) latest productivity product, Office 2016, is going to be a little pricier than its predecessor.

According to Microsoft's Office store website, the cost of a standalone license for Office for Home and Student rose $10 to $150, while Office for Home and Business increased $10 to $230.

Office Professional 2016 and Office 365 retain their respective prices.

ComputerWorld noted that this is the second price hike for Office since January 2013, when prices rose as much as 17 percent.

Shares of Microsoft ended 0.5 percent lower Tuesday.
