Honeywell names Currier CEO, Arnold chair for aerospace spin-off
Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) appointed Jim Currier as president and chief executive officer of its aerospace division, which will become an independent publicly traded company following a planned spin-off expected in the second half of 2026. The company also selected Craig Arnold to serve as chairman of the Honeywell Aerospace board of directors.
Arnold will assume his role as non-executive board chair upon completion of the aerospace spin-off from Honeywell. He will serve on Honeywell's board of directors effective immediately in the interim.
The standalone aerospace company will have more than $15 billion in 2024 sales and will be headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Honeywell Aerospace holds positions in propulsion, cockpit and navigation systems, and auxiliary power, with its technology featured on commercial and defense aircraft platforms worldwide.
Currier has served as president and CEO of the Honeywell Aerospace Technologies business since 2023. He previously spent nearly two decades in senior roles at Honeywell, including as president of the Electronic Solutions business and president of the company's Aftermarket organization across Europe, Middle East, Africa and India.
Arnold brings more than two decades of experience in senior leadership roles at industrial and technology businesses. He most recently served as chairman and CEO of Eaton Corporation and previously spent more than two decades at General Electric in international leadership roles across multiple businesses. He currently serves as lead director on the board of directors at Medtronic.
The aerospace separation is subject to customary conditions, including SEC filings, tax-free confirmation for Honeywell shareholders, regulatory approvals, and final board approval. Honeywell previously announced its plan to spin off its Advanced Materials business, now known as Solstice Advanced Materials, which became an independent U.S. publicly traded company on October 30, 2025.
