Conseco, Inc. (NYSE: CNO) 53.7% LOWER; announced today that it plans to delay the filing of its Annual Report on Form 10-K until on or before March 17, 2009. Conseco said it needs additional time to finalize the analysis and disclosure related to its investment portfolio in light of unprecedented market conditions. Reports preliminary Q4 EPS of $0.26, ex-items, 3 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.29.

Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp. (NASDAQ: SNTA) 52.2% HIGHER; shares are rebounding today following a 79% decline on Friday on news that the company suspended the SYMMETRYSM trial.

Pluristem Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq: PSTI) 44.6% HIGHER; announced today that the FDA has cleared the Company's Investigational New Drug application to initiate a Phase I clinical trial for the treatment of Critical Limb Ischemia, the end stage of peripheral artery disease, using Pluristem's PLX-PAD.

Crosstex Energy, L.P. (NASDAQ: XTEX) 43.9% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $0.19, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.21). Revenues for the quarter were $1.018 billion, versus the consensus of $1.27 billion.

Dyax Corp. (Nasdaq: DYAX) 38.3% HIGHER; this stock is surging today on 3x normal volume but no news. As the stock traded very-near a 52-week low on Friday, today's rally may have been initially sparked by short-covering.

KKR Financial Holdings LLC (NYSE: KFN) 37.4% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $7.85, compared to a profit of $0.52 in the same quarter last year.

Financial Bear 3x (NYSE: FAZ) 19.9% HIGHER; this financial-sector short fund is spiking today as financial stocks are getting crushed. Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) is down 5%, Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) is down 15%, Citigroup (NYSE: C) is down 7.5%, Morgan Stanley (NYSE: SM) is down 9%, Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) is down 13% and JPMorgan (NYSE: JPM) is down 6%.
