Aerpio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARPO) 37% HIGHER; Aerpio Pharmaceuticals and The U.S. Government operating through the Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) announced today that an agreement has been reached to evaluate razuprotafib in a new randomized, investigational trial for the prevention and treatment of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) in adult patients with moderate to severe COVID-19 as part of MTEC-20-09-COVID-19 Treatment Military Infectious Disease Research Program (MIDRP) Development of Treatments for COVID-19. MTEC will provide up to $5.1 million in funding toward the clinical trial. Aerpio will support the trial with in kind spending in the amount of $2.8 million. MTEC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization constructed by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC). The Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) was established as an enterprise partnership including industry and academia to facilitate research and development activities. Protecting U.S. forces from COVID-19 is a key priority for the U.S. military. The partnership between Aerpio and MTEC will provide resources to support a second COVID-19 Phase 2 clinical trial with razuprotafib, a drug candidate being investigated for its potential to prevent and treat the severe respiratory distress observed in COVID-19 patients.

Vapotherm (NYSE: VAPO) 29% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of ($0.35), $0.04 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.39). Revenue for the quarter came in at $35.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $33.47 million.

Net Element, Inc. (NASDAQ: NETE) 28.9% HIGHER; announced the execution of a definitive agreement to merge with privately-held Mullen Technologies, Inc., a Southern California-based electric vehicle company, in a stock-for-stock reverse merger in which Mullen’s stockholders will receive a majority of the outstanding stock in the post-merger Company.

New Relic (NYSE: NEWR) 14.3% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.15, $0.12 better than the analyst estimate of $0.03. Revenue for the quarter came in at $163 million versus the consensus estimate of $159.4 million. New Relic sees Q2 2021 EPS of ($0.03)-$0.02, versus the consensus of $0.04. New Relic sees Q2 2021 revenue of $163-164 million, versus the consensus of $162.9 million.

Novavax, Inc. (NASDAQ: NVAX) 14% HIGHER; Announced Phase 1 data from its Phase 1/2 randomized, observer-blinded, placebo-controlled trial of its COVID19 vaccine with and without MatrixM adjuvant in healthy adults 18-59 years of age. NVXCoV2373, the Companys recombinant COVID-19 vaccine candidate adjuvanted with Matrix-M, was generally well-tolerated and elicited robust antibody responses numerically superior to that seen in human convalescent sera. The data have been submitted for peer-review to a scientific journal and to an online preprint server at medRxiv.org.

LivePerson (NASDAQ: LPSN) 13.8% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.14, $0.25 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.11). Revenue for the quarter came in at $91.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $83.92 million. LivePerson sees Q3 2020 revenue of $92-93 million, versus the consensus of $89.35 million. LivePerson sees FY2020 revenue of $357-361 million, versus the consensus of $347.3 million.

Upwork Inc. (Nasdaq: UPWK) 12.3% LOWER; announced that Jeff McCombs will join the Company as Chief Financial Officer, effective August 4, 2020. McCombs will succeed current CFO, Brian Kinion. Kinion will continue with Upwork as an advisor through October 2020 to assist with a smooth transition.

Nikola (NASDAQ: NKLA) 12.3% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of ($0.16), $0.03 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.13).

Boot Barn Holdings (NYSE: BOOT) 12.2% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of ($0.02), $0.15 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.17). Revenue for the quarter came in at $147.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $137.48 million.

Square (NYSE: SQ) 12% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.18, $0.23 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.05). Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.92 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.12 billion.
