Pre-Open Movers 3/14: Bear Stearns (BSC) Lower After Fed/JPMorgan Bailout On Liquidity Crunch, Zumiez (ZUMZ) Up on Results

Security Capital Assurance (NYSE: SCA) 74% HIGHER; reports a Q4 loss of $10.57, which may not compare to the analyst estimate of $0.69. Revenues for the quarter were $91.9 million, versus the consensus of $87 million.


Zumiez Inc. (NASDAQ: ZUMZ) 14% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.42, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.38. Revenues for the quarter were $126.6 million, versus the consensus of $126.13 million. Sees FY08 EPS of $0.90-$0.93, versus the consensus of $0.92.


Bear Stearns (NYSE: BSC) 8% LOWER; receives financaing from JPMorgan Chase and Fed Bank of New York after noting their liquidity position in the last 24 hours had significantly deteriorated.



Jamba, Inc. (Nasdaq: JMBA) 8% LOWER; reports a Q4 loss of $2.85, which is not comparable to the analyst estimate of ($0.16). Revenues for the quarter were $54.6 million, versus the consensus of $54.99 million.

Virgin Mobile USA, Inc. (NYSE: VM) 15% HIGHER; bounces after today's 41% sell-off on earnings.


Comtech Group Inc. (Nasdaq: COGO) 6% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.22, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.18. Revenues for the quarter were $70.9 million, versus the consensus of $58.78 million. Sees FY08 EPS of $0.90, versus the consensus of $0.90. Revs are expected to be about $285 million, versus the Street estimate of $279.4 million.


AnnTaylor Stores Corp. (NYSE: ANN) 5.65% reports Q4 EPS of $0.19, adjusted, versus the consensus of $0.20. Revenues came in at $600.8 million, versus the consensus of $600.5 million. Sees Q1 EPS of $0.35-$0.40, versus the consensus of $0.41. Sees 2008 EPS of $1.80-$1.90, versus the consensus of $1.95.


Shire plc (Nasdaq: SHPGY)  4.8% HIGHER; Speculation Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) could buy the company.


LivePerson (Nasdaq: LPSN) 5% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.05 versus consensus of $0.06. Revenues for the quarter were $16.8 million, versus the consensus of $16.97 million. Q1 EPS guidance of 4-5 cents versus 4 cents. Full year EPS 20-21 cents versus 24 cents.
