ThreatAdvice Introduces NxtQ, A Cybersecurity-focused Trivia Application to Reward Cybersecurity Knowledge

April 3, 2018 12:40 PM EDT

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (PRWEB) April 03, 2018

ThreatAdvice (threatadvice.com) a provider of cybersecurity education, awareness and threat intelligence announced today that it is launching a trivia application NxtQ, to reward end users of ThreatAdvice's cybersecurity education platform for their knowledge on cybersecurity.

NxtQ will feature a mix of general trivia questions and questions related to cybersecurity. Participants can take a short two question quiz Monday through Thursday to earn potential advantages for the week's featured quiz that is live every Friday. If participants successfully answer all of the questions of the featured quiz correctly, they split the pot, and coins are deposited into their account that can be redeemed for prizes and gift cards in the ThreatAdvice Marketplace.

CEO David Brasfield said that ThreatAdvice wanted to design something fun to drive engagement with the company's cybersecurity learning management system that encouraged people to login to the application each day.

"ThreatAdvice understands that it is sometimes difficult to motivate employees to complete corporate training and we hope that NxtQ will make completing cybersecurity training a want to, rather than a have to for employees," Brasfield said. "The overall benefit of NxtQ is that by participating, employees will be better equipped to recognize and respond appropriately to a cyber threat and will be a stronger line of defense in the workplace," he said.

In addition to the opportunity to bank coins and cash them in for prizes, NxtQ will feature a company leaderboard to foster healthy internal competition.

"We have had a great time developing NxtQ and testing it there's been a lot of competition internally and we believe this enthusiasm will filter down to our end users," Brasfield said.

ThreatAdvice is also introducing additional ways for users of their cybersecurity education and awareness modules to earn coins for example by completing a semester's worth of classes or successfully passing a phishing email test.
