PENSACOLA, Fla., Nov. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has begun the second phase of a project at Navy Federal Credit Union's Pensacola campus, installing 31 new elevators. Navy Federal is the world's largest credit union with six million members worldwide. KONE has recently begun the installation, which spans five campus buildings, and will consist of new KONE EcoSpace, KONE MonoSpace® 500 and KONE MonoSpace® 700 units across the campus.
"We are very proud to provide innovative elevator solutions to Navy Federal's Pensacola campus," said Larry Wash, executive vice president of KONE Americas. "Navy Federal has been a long-standing customer and our goal is to continue improving the flow of people throughout the campus and to make travel within buildings as smooth as possible."
KONE's EcoSpace and KONE MonoSpace solutions are machine room-less elevators, which eliminate the need for a machine or control room by attaching the hoisting machine to the guide rail, and placing all control and logic components inside the hoist way. The solutions also offer greater eco-efficiency, space savings and improved ride comfort.
"We are excited for the second phase of this project," said Bob Parkhurst, assistant vice president of Facilities Management at Navy Federal. "The recently installed elevators have blended seamlessly into our campus and have enabled our team members to move efficiently within our buildings."
