OAKLAND, Calif. (PRWEB) September 26, 2022

Jack London Square, one of the Bay Area's top dining, recreation and commercial districts (http://www.jacklondonsquare.com), will soon kick off "The Power of Pink," a month-long celebration to honor breast cancer survivors throughout the month of October. During this time, the community is invited to watch videos of actual breast cancer survivors as they share their powerful and inspirational stories on the Jack London Square Instagram page (@jacklondonsq); participate in a photo shoot for a Fur Babies calendar to benefit breast cancer patients and survivors; enjoy Power of Pink centerwide dcor, including trees beautifully illuminated with pink lights; and take part in a day-long event featuring free mammograms, a boat parade, a community art project, and discussions with representatives from local non-profit groups, including the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, Tigerlily Foundation and Women's Cancer Research Center.

"Nearly everyone in America knows or loves someone who has had breast cancer," says Heath McCue, CMD, Director of Retail Marketing for Jack London Square. "That's what makes this event so important and so special. At Jack London Square, we wanted to do something to truly honor the survivors of breast cancer who have gone through so much to be here for their friends and family. We also wanted to help raise awareness and funds to help fight breast cancer in our community by partnering with local non-profit organizations that provide critical educational and support services for those entering the fight today. And we want everyone to know that, together, we can defeat this enemy through The Power of Pink."
