Cintas honored for work with Moxy Hotels, InterContinental Washington D.C. – the Warf and Robert Irvine’s Public House

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- For the 19th consecutive year, Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) has been recognized with Image of the Year (IOY) Awards from the North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors (NAUMD). Cintas took home four awards in the following categories: hotel single-unit, hotel multi-unit, restaurant single-unit and transportation product. Presented by the Image Apparel Institute (IAI), a division of the NAUMD, the 2018 IOY Awards recognize fashion, function, creativity and innovation in apparel design.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized once again with four NAUMD IOY Awards,” said Kristin Sharp, Director of Design and Merchandising at Cintas. “We constantly strive to collaborate with our clients to create fashionable and functional apparel programs that meet the client’s needs and strengthen their brand.”

Cintas was honored in the transportation product category for the program it designed for Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. Cintas created a collection for over 6,500 wearers that features the branding of both the parent company, Coca-Cola®, as well as the local distributor and bottler logos throughout the program. It was also important that the program cater to all demographics of employees, sizes and shapes, ages and ethnicities. The program features include an action back for mobility and ventilation, polo shirts with moisture wicking technology and cargo pants with countless pockets for tools and devices.

“Cintas worked directly with our employees to gather feedback and ultimately design a collection with mix and match options that perform well on the job,” said Rick Terrell, Director - Savannah River Division, Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. “As a bottler, we understand the importance of reducing waste and wanted to ensure the Cintas recycled fabric was a part of the program. We’re proud to say that thus far the eco garments in our program have helped divert over 114,000 bottles from landfills.”

The Cintas program for The InterContinental Washington D.C. – The Wharf, was recognized in the hotel single-unit category. Designed by Fourmy, Cintas’ luxury brand, the apparel collection was inspired by the Compass Rose, which is used to display orientation of the cardinal directions north, south, east and west. The Compass Rose is subtly depicted in the angles of the doorman and bellman front jacket closures, the angles on lapels, pockets and most notably on the signature female front office jacket. Consisting of 100 front-of-house staff garments, the program blends unique custom pieces with cohesive stock choices.

“The inspirational designs of our uniforms are reflective of a maritime theme, while featuring the history and revitalized development of the Wharf neighborhood,” said Simon Antoine, General Manager, InterContinental Washington D.C. – The Wharf. “Accessories and special characteristics, such as the scarves and the unique African inspired prints in the dresses, highlight the custom design by complementing the soft neutral tones with rich colors that pop. The working relationship with Fourmy was excellent and they took our ideas and transformed them into reality.”

Winner in the hotel multi-unit category, the Cintas apparel program for Moxy Hotels is designed for the millennial demographic and features garments inspired by urban street style, including fitted black T-shirts, casual sweaters/hoodies and knit dresses.

“The Cintas team worked hand-in-hand with the Moxy brand team to create a lifestyle apparel collection that exemplifies the street esthetic which was inspired by the new Moxy opening in New York City, but also reflective of the vibe of the Moxy brand,” said Vicki Poulos, Senior Brand Director, Moxy Hotels. “We challenged Cintas to develop a high-style, but casual collection. Cintas’ thoughtful approach developed a program that our employees are excited to wear each day for work.”

Cintas also won in the restaurant single-unit category for its collection designed for Robert Irvine’s Public House, located in Las Vegas. Known for his Food Network programs and as a talk show host, Robert’s personality had some influence in the garments’ designs. The program is casual and approachable, and layered with some tailored pieces to add a touch of sophistication. Designed to make the employees feel as if they’re wearing their own clothes, the collection includes mix and match options with pops of color, allowing each employee to create their own unique look.
