The U.S. is forcing Wall Street banks to embark on a systematic search through more than 100 personal mobile phones carried by top traders and dealmakers, according to a report from Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter.
The SEC has been sending firms lists of key positions.
Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS), Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS), Citigroup (NYSE: C), HSBC Holdings (NYSE: HSBC) and Credit Suisse (NYSE: CS) have said they were fielding inquiries.
