What, Google worry?

It was mentioned earlier that Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) would have a one to two year struggle (more likely two) if it aims to steal the notebook throne away from Microsoft (Nasdq: MSFT). Factors like consumer habit and integration were key issues raised.

Well, the prediction might not be so bold afterall. Looking at sales charts on Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN), the Samsung Chromebook preforms really well. The WiFi-only notebook with 2-GB DDR ram and 16-GB of memory ranks number two in Computers and Accessories and number one under the subsection Laptops.

Of note, the Toshiba Satellite C855-S5134 15.6-inch laptop was the first Windows 8-equpped notebook to make the Laptop list, coming in at number eight. The device has 16 days in the top 100 while the Chromebook is at 146 days.

This is just one site that sells the Samsung Chromebook, but Best Buy, Newegg, and others don't have similar ranking systems.

Shares of Google are down 0.8 percent today.
