United Airlines (UAL) Tops Q2 EPS by 4c; Additional $2B Stock Buyback Approved

United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) reported Q2 EPS of $2.61, $0.04 better than the analyst estimate of $2.57. Revenue for the quarter came in at $9.4 billion versus the consensus estimate of $9.38 billion.

UAL's Board of Directors authorized an additional $2 billion share repurchase program. This amount represents approximately 13 percent of the company's market capitalization as of the closing stock price on July 18, 2016.
