Nokia Siemens (NOK)(SI) Trims Nearly 1,000 Positions in Finland

Nokia Siemens (NYSE: NOK)(NYSE: SI) is commencing its plans to reduce headcount, starting in Nokia's homeland of Finland.
According to reports out Thursday, the collaboration will cut about 924 jobs in Finland as it looks to streamline ops and reduce costs. Last November, Nokia Siemens announced an initative to reduce its headcount by 17,000 positions, a total elimination of 23 percent of its workforce.
Projections had Nokia Siemens cutting about 1,200 in January in Finland.
