KernelCare Live Patching for IoT Now Supports Raspberry Pi OS
PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CloudLinux announced today that its KernelCare service for the Raspberry Pi platform adds support for the Raspberry Pi OS (previously called Raspbian), the most widely used operating system on the popular low-cost platform.
KernelCare for IoT already supports Ubuntu Focal Fossa for 64-bit ARM, and now adds support for Raspberry Pi OS, the operating system officially provided by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Raspberry Pi OS is a free Debian-based operating system specifically-optimized for Raspberry Pi hardware.
Deploying live patches to IoT devices like the Raspberry Pi is another step towards more secure computing, which is accessible and available for free for home and hobby users. With KernelCare for IoT, IoT devices are automatically updated with security patches without disruption or downtime.
Now, KernelCare for Raspberry Pi supports Ubuntu Focal Fossa for 64-bit ARM and Raspbian, running on the BCM2711 (Pi 4) and BCM2837 (Pi 3 and later models of the Pi 2) chips.
