Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry said based on their latest checks at the factory and delivery hub, Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) will very likely meet, and maybe exceed its delivery guidance of 27,000 Model S and Model X units.

Regarding the Model 3, Chowdhry said at the Fremont Delivery Hub they saw the Model 3 to (Model S + Model X) ratio to be at least 7 to 1, i.e. for every 7 Model 3's there were 1 Model S or Model X. "...with the above data point, We can safely conclude that Model 3's production is nicely ramping up," he commented.

Chowdhry highlighted that 4Q2017 had 2 significant developments - "Deliveries-at-Scale":

  • The ramping up of Fremont Delivery Hub
  • The ramping up of LA Delivery Hub
  • ...if somehow, TSLA surprises on the upside, it will be attributed to the successful ramping up of Delivery Hubs

Meanwhile, at the Fremont Delivery Hub, there were more than 500 Tesla Vehicles waiting to be delivered.

"Based on what we have been seeing over our regular checks all through the quarter, we feel that TSLA should be able to deliver on its guidance of 27,000 Units of Model S and Model X," Chowdhry concluded.
