Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) China sales numbers of 25,845 for April were misleading because they included exports, according to GLJ Research analyst Gordon Johnson.
The company actually sold just 11,671 cars in China, given that it exported 14,174 China-made units during the month, Johnson notes.
On an apples-to-apples basis, this is down 67% month-over-month, according to the analyst, given that the 35K March number did not include China-made exports.
