Bloomberg reports that according to most recent data from Israel’s Ministry of Health, Pfizer’s (NYSE: PFE) COVID-19 vaccine was only 39% effective in preventing infections from the Delta strain of the coronavirus.

Among those infected, the vaccine still offered 88% protection from hospitalizations and 91.4% from getting severely ill, based on the agency’s study of unspecified number of cases between June 20th and July 17th.

Earlier today, Pfizer (PFE) and BioNTech (NASDAQ: BNTX) announced another US Government order for additional 200M doses to be delivered between October 2021 and April 2022.

Shares of Pfizer remain mostly flat in the pre-market.
