KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is positive on the outlook for Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) MacBook, which is expected to see the best YoY shipments growth among Appleās (US) main product lines (13-16%) in 2018. iPhone shipments are expected to grow just 4-6% and iPad shipments 7-10%.
Kuo added that shipments of components look to grow 60-80% QoQ in 2Q18 on the start of shipments of new models.
Most of the shipments will happen in later in the year he said, with 2nd-half shipments accounting for 65-70% the of annual shipments.
Further, the analsyt notes OLED Touch Bar MacBook Pro shipments weighting is significantly up, and key Taiwanese suppliers include SZS and TPK.
Meanwhile, key supplier to the more-affordable MacBook Air is SZS.
Overall, the main Taiwanese suppliers to MacBook are Quanta, SZS, TPK, Radiant, Wistron, Catcher , Unimicron, and Primax.
