at 01:01 PM Live Nation ... down the drain With ticket prices and service charges so high and going higher, Live Nation is sinking under the weight of their own greed and ambitions. Now add a growing recession and job losses and you have a recipe for disaster. Besides, they have cut staff, closed offices, loaded unbelievable work loads on remaining employees - most larger offices have 50% fewer staff and a 50% increase in concerts. Early this year, LN ended their 3% COL raises to all employees except their top management (who continue to draw huge salaries, raises and too generous stock grants and bonuses. My friend is in ticketing there and was given a 30% cut in pay for her 15 years of dedication ... and is now working even more hours and can't get by. Their employee morale is non existent and stress levels are dangerously high. Then there's the switch from Ticketmaster coming in January - which I predict will be a disaster! They are not ready - Ticketmaster usually has 4 - 6 service reps for each larger city LN office who are on call during concerts in case of problems - LN has just 1 or 2 service reps per entire region! How is THAT going to work? My advice ... sell now while you can get some of your money back!

at 11:36 AM Analysts don't know any better I agree with you Cliff. I would like to know at what price point would this analyst consider LYV to be a buy? Here is a highlight of Live Nations's recent Earnings Report: NEW YORK, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Concert promoter Live Nation Inc (LYV.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) posted a higher third-quarter profit on Thursday, as consumers flocked to outdoor summer concerts even in a slowing economy. The company said sales growth was driven by an increase in the number of events, attendance, ancillary revenue per attendee and average ticket prices, though these were partly offset by a decrease in arena events in North America, which accounts for around half of revenue. "Despite challenging times, millions of fans have continued to attend live concerts to support their favorite artists," Chief Executive Michael Rapino said in a statement. Live Nation, which is moving more directly into selling tickets and signing artists for recording contracts, said its third-quarter net income rose to $139.9 million, or $1.67 a share, from $41.6 million, or 55 cents a share, a year ago. LYV HIT A 52 WEEK LOW THIS MORNING, SHORTLY AFTER THIS ANALYST DOWNGRADED LYV TO A HOLD.
