September 3, 2013 11:41 AM EDTMicrosoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) shocked the world overnight, announcing a deal to spend $7.1 billion to acquire Nokia's (NYSE: NOK) seemingly lackluster device unit. The news is seen as a slap in the face to ValueAct Capital, the activist hedge fund that Microsoft announced a "cooperation agreement" with on Friday.
