S&P 500 losing streak runs to 8 days as Facebook weighs

(Reuters) - The S&P 500 fell for an eighth straight session on Thursday, its longest losing streak since the 2008 financial crisis, as Facebook shares weighed and investors grappled with uncertainty over next week's U.S. presidential election.
Facebook shares tumbled 5.7 percent as the world's largest online social media network warned that revenue growth would slow this quarter.
The stock was the biggest drag on the S&P 500 as well as on the tech-heavy Nasdaq, which also posted its eighth straight day of losses.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Whole Foods Market Inc (NASDAQ: WFM) is staking its future on blunt, vegan co-founder John Mackey, betting the man who built the high-end health food grocery chain has the best shot of leading its turnaround.

(Reuters) - Whole Foods Market Inc (NASDAQ: WFM) on Wednesday said sales declines at established stores are easing and that its co-founder John Mackey will take over as the company's sole chief executive, sending its shares up nearly 4 percent after hours.
The pioneering organic and natural food grocer said Walter Robb, who has split CEO duties with Mackey for six years, will step aside at year end.
