Private educations provider Apollo Group (Nasdaq: APOL) shares are pressured in late trading following first-quarter 2013 results just after the market closed today.
Investors are keeping a name on Apollo peers like Career Education (Nasdaq: CECO), ITT Educational (NYSE: ESI), DeVry (NYSE: DV), Corinthan Colleges (Nasdaq: COCO), and others. Mainly, Apollo reported a 15.1 percent drop in new enrollees to 54,100, from 63,700 reported in the same period last year. Notably Associate's and Bachelor's enrollees saw the largest declines.
Apollo is down about 4 percent Tuesday night.
