Samsung Could Have Rapid Launch of Tizen, Here's Why... (GOOG)

Samsung is set to launch an "Android killer" sometime this year, the company confirmed earlier. But , all is lost if the company has no apps to run on the operating system, right?
No worries! Thanks to Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) itself and its API stance, it would be a contradiction to prevent Samsung from creating code which would mesh with Android apps.
Both Tizen (Samsung's OS) and Android (Google's OS) are Linux-based operating systems, points out FOSS Patents today. Google then created a Java-derived programming environment for developers and won a case against Oracle saying that it didn't violate any current patents or copyrights.
So, Google would going against its own stance in taking up litigation with Samsung if Tizen was interoperable with Android. For the full rundown, click here.
