Olin (OLN) Falls on Worries About Firearm Unit
Olin Corp. (NYSE: OLN) is another company getting caught up in the firearm trade in light of the recent school shootings.
Olin's Winchester segment produces and distributes gauges and calibers of shotgun shells, rimfire and centerfire ammunition for pistols and rifles, reloading components, and industrial cartridges for recreational shooters, hunters, law enforcement agencies, and the U.S. armed forces.
Shares of Smith & Wesson (NASDAQ: SWHC) and Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. (NYSE: RGR) continue lower related to the backlash from the Sandy Hook shootings. This is being exacerbated by reports that Cerberus is seeking to exit its stake in firearms maker Freedom Group.
