Adobe Systems (ADBE) Tops Q4 Views as Creative Cloud Growth Accelerates

Adobe Systems (Nasdaq: ADBE) is higher Thursday night following solid fourth-quarter numbers issued after the market closed.

The maker of such marquee names as Acrobat and Photoshop reported a modest gain in revs to $1.153 billion, from $1.152 billion in the same period last year. GAAP net income improved 28 percent to $222.33 million, or 44 cents per common share. After adjusting for certain items, EPS came in higher at 61 cents. (Adobe reported EPS of 67 cents in Q411.)

The Street was expecting revs of $1.10 billion and EPS of 56 cents.

Adoption of Adobe's Creative Cloud accelerated in the quarter, moving to an average of 10,000 subs added per week, versus 8,000 in the prior quarter.

Document Services and Marketing Cloud revs hit records at $210.2 million and $220.4 million, respectively.

In fiscal 2013 we intend to accelerate our pace of innovation, and drive integration between Creative Cloud and Adobe Marketing Cloud," commented CEO Shantanu Narayen.
