Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) and Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) will be on watch by astute traders Thursday following a user base update by a (relatively) silent rival.

According to reports out today, UCWeb -- a Chinese mobile browser maker -- said it hit the 400 million user milestone. The company also boasted a 50 percent market share in China and 25 percent share in fast-growing India.

UCWeb also said, "In less than a year, UC Browser gained 100 million new users, and last month, UCWeb’s global Android users also passed the 100 million user mark, adding another milestone as UCWeb expands globally. According to statistics from IDC, [Google (Nasdaq: GOOG)] Android phones account for 75% of all smartphones sold globally, becoming the number one Operating System for smartphones.'

In India, mobile users exceed PC users by three-fold, the a count 950 million. "The data traffic for mobile internet surpassed that of PC internet in May 2012," UCWeb said, "and it accounts for approximately 60 percent of the total traffic in November 2012."

UCWeb was formed in 2004.

Both Baidu and Qihoo are relatively flat in early trading.
