Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) is moving to bar websites being run by U.S. distributors and looking to migrate their businesses into a corporate-controlled hub called goherbalife.com as the company works to get on the good side of U.S. regulators.
The NY Post noted that Herbalife's move is an effort to exert more control over its sales force. The change will be effective starting November 15th.
Last week, Herbalife said it appointed Pamela Jones Harbour to the newly created role of senior vice president, global member compliance and privacy. Harbour was Commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission from 2003-2010 and a prosecutor at the New York State Attorney General’s office for 12 years.
Shares of Herbalife are postiive at the start Monday.
