Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) should see solid sales of its next-generation iPad, while other tablet manufacturers might fall into a sales slump in the current quarter.
Digitimes, citing supply chain makers, said global tablet demand being weak into Q215, when Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) launches Windows 10. Pressure on the segment is also coming from Apple's introduction of larger smartphones in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The launch of the iPhone 6/6+ has also ebbed demand for smartphones from the likes of Samsung Electronics, Sony (NYSE: SNE), and High-Tech Computer's (HTC), among others.
Apple is positive in early trading Wednesday.
