Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is adjusting the supply ratio for its iPhone 6 and larger iPhone 6 Plus handsets.
Digitimes, citing upstream supply sources, said demand for Apple's iPhone 6 Plus is larger than previously expected. Retail channels are unlikely to feel an immediate impact from the adjustments, which have largely been made.
Sources see iPhone 6 shipments in H214 to be about 3 to 4 million units lower than earlier projections.
Both component suppliers and device makers weren't initially prepared for the stronger demand for the iPhone 6 Plug.
News comes as both models are expected to begin selling in China on October 17th.
Shares of Apple are lower in early trading.
