Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) will hold a small press event tomorrow to reveal more details about its next major operating sytem, Windows.
One of the most-speculated items into the event is the actual name of the platform; will it be called Windows 9, "Threshold," or something else?
TheVerge noted over the weekend that the third option might be the most plausible. The name Windows TH
appeared on the company's technical preview site recently, though it has since been taken down. That might be simply a placeholder for Windows Threshold
and could mean that the company hasn't finalized a name yet.
In any case, Microsoft might launch the previw of its next Windows platform next week. The company will also have a Windows Insider Preview Program
for IT profesisonals and enthusiasts, which will allow those who sign up aceess to the latest builds in exchange for feedback.
Shares of Microsoft are flat Monday.
