Just three hours following launch, Motorola Mobility announced that its Moto 360 smartwatch is sold out.
This could be a positive heading into Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) September 9th event, which may see the company debut its own wearable device.
To be sure, the Moto 360 is appealing. We won't bore you with details, which you can find at the Moto 360 page here. But, we suspect Apple's product will be equally appealing and it already has a built-in customer base.
While speculation surrounds whether Apple's device will go on sale this year or early 2015, tentative sales numbers could easily surpass 10 million units when pre-ordering starts. As for Motorola, we haven't heard any specific numbers on how many Moto 360 units were sold.
Apple shares are up 0.6 percent.
