While Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is planning changes to its organization and affirms that it will continue Xbox development, things aren't getting too much better for the console.
The latest NPD data has Sony's PlayStation 4 outselling the Xbox One in June, the sixth consecutive month of doing so.
PS4 also topped XB1 for software sales, being the go-to platform for such popular titles as Watch Dogs,
FIFA 14,
and UFC.
Notably, Microsoft said XB1 sales more than doubled in June, though hard numbers were available.
Console sales as a whole were up 106 percent from last year to $292.7 million.
It should be noted that NPD figures only include retail sales, leaving out digital distribution, mobile games, and preowned sales.
